On Wednesday, President Trump sat down with the Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas. The egregious conversation was laden with lies and propaganda and served as the foreground for the Palestinian flag being flown. The state of Palestine does not exist. Therefore the flag should not be flown. Particularly in the White House. Here are the two fundamental reasons why the Trump-Abbas summit was a bad idea:
1. The Palestinians Don’t Want Peace. Last week President Trump said, “There is no reason there’s not peace between Israel and the Palestinians — none whatsoever.” This is a lie. The reason there is no peace between the Israelis and the Palestinian Authority is because the Palestinians are not willing to accept peace, no matter how many times the Jew-hating UN tells you that if there were only no so-called Israeli occupation in the West Bank, there would be peace. The fact is that the Palestinian Authority openly calls for the destruction of the Jewish state, regardless of what their new charter will say. The Palestinian Authority is perpetuating anti-Israeli lies and propaganda frequently on various mediums, inculcating their children with baseless and slanderous lies. Palestinians have refused deals offered by former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak to former Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat that granted Palestinians the right to an overwhelming majority of the land in the West Bank, all of the Gaza Strip, and various other perks. Almost a decade later in 2008, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert put a whopping 94% of the West Bank on the table along with other parts of Israel, all benefiting the Palestinians. The current Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas, walked away from the deal. That’s because the Palestinians don’t want peace, no matter how generous the deal is that they’re offered. Despite both Arafat and Abbas’ refusal of a peace agreement, in 2005 Israel disengaged from the Gaza Strip, which resulted in a disastrous terrorist state, as I’ve outlined in a previous article for The Lone Conservative. To sum it up: thousands of Jews were forcibly uprooted from Gaza, the remaining Palestinians torched the place, and now the Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist government, is in control after being elected by Palestinians. Wonderful.
2. Trump Got Lied To And Is Forwarding Harmful Rhetoric. Trump, the famed master negotiator, really isn’t a master negotiator (see health care and budget). This meeting with the terroristic, Holocaust-denying, Jew hater Mahmoud Abbas reinforces that. “It’s something that I think is, frankly, maybe not as difficult as people have thought over the years,” Said Trump. This asinine comment is just one of the dumber things that were said during the meeting at the White House on Wednesday. During their meeting, Abbas noted that Palestinian children are brought up in a “culture of peace.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu excoriated Abbas, as reported on by Conservative Review:
“I heard President Abbas yesterday say that they teach, Palestinians teach their children peace. That’s unfortunately not true,” Netanyahu said Thursday. “They name their schools after mass murderers of Israelis and they pay terrorists.”
Throughout his presidency so far, Trump has been overtly pro-Israel; certainly a step up from the prior administration. However, it is naive to overlook this as merely a passing subject. The notion that Trump believes that the Palestinians want peace just as the Jewish state does is disconcerting to the max and is indicative of prospective American diplomatic intervention policy in regards to reaching peace in the Middle East. And that policy won’t be a good one if he goes into it with that mindset.
