On Tuesday, James Comey has been ousted as FBI Director by Trump as per a recommendation by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, as explained by a statement from Press Secretary Sean Spicer:

Today, President Donald J. Trump informed FBI Director James Comey that he has been terminated and removed from office. President Trump acted based on the clear recommendations of both Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.Today, President Donald J. President Trump acted based on the clear recommendations of both Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

“The FBI is one of our Nation’s most cherished and respected institutions and today will mark a new beginning for our crown jewel of law enforcement,” said President Trump.

A search for a new permanent FBI Director will begin immediately.

This is all good news. James Comey politicized the FBI by changing legal precedent to include intent in regards to the infamous Hillary Clinton investigation, alerted Congress prematurely of new evidence and quasi-reopened the Hillary case again only 11 days before the 2016 presidential election, then closed it again eight days later. This was all done in an attempt by him to diversify his chances at remaining FBI Director, as previously outlined. Because of this, I have been calling for Trump to fire James Comey as it was clearly the most-level headed and smart thing to do. Although done late, it’s been done.

Delayed oustings have been a hallmark of the Trump administration it seems. This has been no exception. Good riddance, James Comey.
